In October, three million email addresses were leaked from CoinMarketCap, leaving millions of people at high risk of phishing attacks.

How to protect against phishing attacks

Phishing is when a malicious actor attempts to trick you into revealing personal details or login credentials by impersonating a product or service.

To safeguard against phishing, follow the following best security practices:

  • Check the domain: When visiting the EQONEX website from a supported browser, ensure the domain is https://eqonex.com and the intact lock symbol is visible in the address bar. Do not reply to emails purporting to be from EQONEX that are not from @eqonex.com.

  • Enable 2-factor authentication (2FA): If you haven’t enabled 2FA for your EQONEX account yet, you can do so by following this guide.

  • Use a password manager: Generate and store unique passwords for each website you use. There are many password manager applications such as LastPass, Bitwarden, and 1Password.

Stay safe, and please reach out to our Customer Support Team if you think you have received a phishing email, need assistance, or have any questions.
